Sugar Cookies

INGREDIENTS:

3/4 c. sugar

2 eggs, beaten

1 t. vanilla

1 t. cream of tartar

1/2 t. baking soda

1/2 c. shortening or salad oil

2 c. flour

1/2 t. salt


DIRECTIONS:

Blend sugar with shortening. Stir in beaten eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt; add to shortening mixture gradually. Chill till easy to handle. Roll to 1/8 inch on floured board. Bake on greased sheet, 375 degrees, 10-12 minutes. Makes 1 1/2 - 2 dozen.
