Spaghetti Sauce

INGREDIENTS:
3/4 chopped onion
1 clove garlic minced
3 lbs olive or salad oil
2 1lb cans (4 cups) tomatoes
2 6oz cans tomato paste (1 1/2 cup)
1 cup water
1 T. sugar
1 1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1 1/2 t. crushed oregano
1 bay leaf
DIRECTIONS:
Cook onion and garlic in hot oil till tender but not brown. Stir in the next 8 ingredients. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes: remove bay leaf. Add meat balls and cook 30 minutes longer.
