Ginger Cookies

INGREDIENTS:

2 c. flour

1 t. baking powder

1/2 t. soda

1/3 c. sugar

1 t. cinnamon

1/2 - 1 t. ginger

1/2 c. butter

1/2 c. molasses


DIRECTIONS:

Heat 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup molasses just until butter melts. Add dry ingredients and 2 T hot tap water; stir till blended. Chill at least 1 hr. Knead into a ball on lightly floured board. Roll & cut. Dip in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 5 min. 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
