Roast in the Oven
"I (spread) Lipton dry onion soup on the roast for flavor. We also have beef base called “Better than Boullion” that comes in a jar." - Judy Walker
Use a chuck roast or roast of beef. (Shape is round, unlike a steak). Look for a cut with marbling because it will be more tender. Top with Lipton dry onion soup or other onion flavoring. Add a little water to bottom of pan and surround with carrots, potatoes and maybe onions. Sometimes the veg seems to take a long time to cook. Maybe it was just too crowded in the pan.
Bake slow - low heat - 350 degrees celsius. Cooking time all depends on the quality and cut of the meat. How long is hard to say - until it’s tender when you stick a fork in it. Usually 2 hours or more.
