Bread & Butter Pickles

INGREDIENTS:
4 qts. sliced cucumbers
<6 medium white onions, sliced
2 green peppers, sliced
1/3 cup salt
3 cloves garlic
DIRECTIONS:
Cover this mixture with ice, let stand 3 hrs or overnight. Drain thoroughly. Combine the following:
5 cups sugar
1 1/2 t. turmeric
1 1/2 t. celery seed
2 T. mustard seed
3 c. vinegar
Add cucumber mixture. Heat just to boiling. Seal while hot.
Note: Process 5 minutes.
