Banana Bread

1/3 c. shortening

1/2 c. sugar

2 eggs

1 3/4 c. flour

1t baking powder

1/2 t baking soda

1/2 t salt

1 c. mashed ripe bananas

1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture, alternately with bananas, blending after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour into well-greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Remove from pan and cool.
